RIED at the IMechE Simulation and Modelling Conference (October 2025)

Mark Price, supported by Thomas Shannon and Thomas McCaughtry, attended the IMechE Simulation and Modelling Conference from the 30 September to 1 October, in Birmingham. The Conference covered the latest applications of simulation technologies, digital twins, multiphysics modelling, data validation and much more.

This Conference brought together engineers and simulation experts from across multiple industries, to provide a key forum for like-minded practitioners to share their expertise, present new technical developments, provide innovative use cases and outline lessons learned from engineering simulation projects.

Mark gave a presentation tiled “Superfast Concept Generation using ML in Generative Design” and covered the following areas

  • AI tools offer opportunities to use advanced multi-physics simulation tools and associated data more effectively to support engineering design
  • How the RIED Engine embeds these tools in a generative design system that is capable of generating concepts several orders of magnitude faster than current approaches
  • A range of examples will be shown and future potential of this new approach to engineering design
