Caitlin Sands and Professor Yan Jin at the July 2025 MESROB

Caitlin Sands, a RIED second year PhD Student from QUB, supported by Professor Yan Jin, attended and presented a paper at the 9th International Workshop on New Trends in Medical and Science Robotics in Poitiers, France from July 2-4th. From the point of view of research and applications, medical and service robotics are enjoying a growing interest at the same time as the obvious growth of the market. The aim of the MESROB Workshop was to provide an international platform for researchers, engineers, and PhD students involved in the general field of medical and service robotics to exchange the latest research results and exchange views on future research directions in these areas.

Caitlin’s paper, titled “A generative Design Framework of Surgical Robots for Assisted Opthalmic Surgery” can be found in our RIED Library of Conference Papers and in the Conference Proceedings accessible via New Trends in Medical and Service Robotics: MESROB 2025 | SpringerLink. The paper itself can also be found via https://link.springer.com/chapter/10.1007/978-3-031-96081-9_4
