We are delighted to share that our Edgar Buchanan, a RIED Research Fellow from the University of York has successfully completed his UK Naturalisation process. Edgar has been working in the University of York since completing his PhD there in 2019 and joined the RIED Programme in December 2022.
This significant commitment required Edgar to demonstrate that he has lived in the UK for over 5 years, be of good character, with sound future intentions and have a good knowledge of English, as all of his friends and colleagues on the RIED Programme would agree. Edgar also had to pass the “Life in the UK Test” – which is not an easy test too. Edgar was awarded his certificate by a number of dignitaries from the City of York in all their regalia, after making his pledge of allegiance to the UK.
