Naeem Iqbal received his Ph.D. degree in Computer Engineering from Computer Engineering Department at Jeju National University, Republic of Korea, in 2023 where he was awarded the best academic achievement award (Presidential Award) for outstanding research in his doctoral course.
He received his M.S. degree in Computer Science from COMSATS University Islamabad, Attock Campus, Punjab, Pakistan, in 2019. He received his B.S. degree in Computer Science from the COMSATS University Islamabad, Attock Campus, in 2015.
Naeem was a full-time Research Assistant with the Department of Computer Engineering, Jeju National University, Republic of Korea, from September 2019 to February 2023. Following this he was a Postdoctoral Fellow from March 2023 to August 2023 with the JNU Big Data Center, Jeju National University, Republic of Korea.
Naeem joined Queen’s University Belfast, in August 2023, where worked as a Research Fellow with the School of Electronics, Electrical and Computer Science. He has professional experience in the software development industry and in academics as well. His research work mainly focused on AI-based Intelligent Systems, Data Science, Big Data Analytics, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Analysis of Optimization Algorithms, IoT, and Blockchain-based secured applications.
Naeem has published more than 35 papers in peer-reviewed international journals and conferences. In addition, he is serving as a professional reviewer for various well-reputed journals and conferences.
At the end of September 2024, Naeem moved on from the RIED Programme to a permanent position within Queens as a Senior Engineer in AI (for Cybersecurity) in the Centre for Secure Information Technologies (CSIT), the UK’s Innovation and Knowledge Centre for Cyber Security.
