Ksenija Dvurecenska received the M.Eng. degree in aerospace engineering from the University of Southampton, UK, and the Ph.D. degree in validation of solid mechanics models from the University of Liverpool, UK. She is currently a lecturer at the University of Liverpool and is part of the Structural Materials and Mechanics research group. Her research is focused on quantitative validation methodologies, which she is exploring in the nuclear and aerospace sectors. The challenges she is addressing are effective use of physical measurements in the validation process, standardisation of validation methodologies, and interpretation of validation outcomes. This is with the aim to establish confidence in high-fidelity computational models and support decisions based on the predictions of the models.
